A woman was near death from a special kind of cancer. There was one drug that the doctors thought might save her. It was a form of radium that a druggist in the same town had recently discovered. The drug was expensive to make, but the druggist was charging ten times what the drug cost him to produce. He paid $200 for the radium and charged $2,000 for a small dose of the drug. The sick woman’s husband, Heinz, went to everyone he knew to borrow the money, but he could only get together about $1,000 which is half of what it cost. He told the druggist that his wife was dying and asked him to sell it cheaper or let him pay later. But the druggist said: “No, I discovered the drug and I’m going to make money from it.” So Heinz got desperate and broke into the man’s laboratory to steal the drug for his wife. Should Heinz have broken into the laboratory to steal the drug for his wife? Why or why not? (Heinz Dilemma)

Links? No offense, but to me this like a spurious story.

You have now the option to cure two plagues that effect our world. The ability to cure cancer, or the ability to cure world hunger. Which do you choose? Why?

World hunger is not a disease. It is the result of having more kids than you, or your society can feed. Stop having kids that you can't feed, and your hunger problem goes away. People in the US, have less kids with each generation because they can't support a lot of kids, but immigrant's both legal and illegal who come here to "escape hunger and over population", come here and breed like rats.

Is Gay "Okay"? How do YOU feel about it? Do you think gay marriage should be legal?

I didn't say they're exactly the same
I said identical twins are pretty much the same

I'm not saying homosexuality is a choice
but I'm also saying
in the same way
incest, bestiality, etc. may not be something people choose to feel either
I mean who wants to be shunned?

the choice involved is when the person decides to act on their attraction

the event with the lesbian aunt is an example of homosexuality that occurred because of an event
it was not because of genetics

she was straight before
she didn't become gay until after her father raped her
that event led her to be really scared of men
fear really stunts attraction
so her sexual attraction only later was towards females
she doesn't deny this

I'm not saying she chose to be a lesbian
but her father raping her really traumatized her
and had an impact on her sexual orientation

and I think the other ones I listed are comparable
why is incest wrong if it's between two consensual adults?
there are couples out there who are not related but still have high risks of deformed babies

just because because the two people are siblings doesn't guarantee deformed babies

do we stop people with genetic disorders from mating?
no we don't
so why is it stopped with incest?

the incestual couple can use birth control
there's the morning after pill
there are sterile brothers and sisters
(I feel like debating abortion now
but this is such a looong comment
I'll stop myself)

incest **** is illegal
but you can't know what goes on behind closed doors

the thing is that it's more than genetics
and deformation

why are we stopping them?

your sibling, your parent
these are people who are your family
the bonds you share with them is not supposed to be sexual
when you mix **** and romance with your immediate family
it's dangerous

it messes with the power dynamics in the family

it's destructive to society
and to make it legal would say that it's acceptable

and not just society
it's bad for the individuals' psychological well being

when it's done behind closed doors
they're acknowledging that they're ashamed of what they're doing

just as a note
I'm not against cousin marriages
I made a post explaining

I am against siblings, parents, paternal/maternal aunts/uncles, grandparents though

why are we stopping bestiality?
animals can't consent
so what?
we don't get their consent to eat them

as long as someone is not hurting the animal
why is bestiality wrong?

and for the argument that goes for natural

rape, incest, homosexuality, are found in animals both human and not human

what does natural have to do with it?

dolphins rape/gang rape other dolphins
dolphins also rape humans

that one spider eats her mate

that all occurs in the animal kingdom

cannibalism occurs in human and non human animals

so people who talk about "it occurs in nature"
what's your point?
what does nature have to do with it?
there are plenty of things that occur in nature
doesn't mean it's acceptable

the reasons people wanna deny marriage to certain people is not because they're malicious or hateful

we just want what's best for society as a whole

I didn't bring in religion in my first comment

I get that not everyone shares the same beliefs

but I'm gonna vote the way I think is best for society
and you're gonna vote the way you think is best for society

Judaism, Christianity, Islam, Zoroastrianism, Hinduism, Jainism, etc. aren't in support in some way

even Buddhism (an atheistic religion) says homosexual relations hinders spiritual growth

why is it that the majority of religions hold some sort of opposition to homosexual, incestual, etc.?
it's can't be because of the fear of the different since racism is prohibited by many religions

and do note that the argument against gay marriage is not just with religious people

there are atheists and secular reasons people don't think it should be legal

Once again, another brilliant answer!

Is Gay "Okay"? How do YOU feel about it? Do you think gay marriage should be legal?

I usually stay away from sensitive topics like gay marriage and abortion
but lately
I've been getting more into it

the thing is that I feel really funky talking about those things
or maybe uncomfortable is a better word

I usually agree with liberals when it comes to all issues except the social ones
the social issues is where I'm a conservative

I guess the discomfort comes from agreeing so much with a group
but then disagreeing with the other issues

the disagreement feels really confrontational for me
and stressful too

For some reason
I feel comfortable with agreeing with liberals
but uncomfortable disagreeing with them

in the complete contrast
I feel comfortable with disagreeing with conservatives
but uncomfortable agreeing with them

I live in a place where there's about an equal number of both
so I don't know exactly why I think like this

it might be because I picture conservatism with the Old South and things like racism and lynchings and horrible treatment of women
and I picture liberalism with equality

I know that's not true
it's just a stupid link I have in my head
I'm trying to get rid of that link
I think talking about it in length the way I'm doing right now will help me do so
so bear with me on this really long comment

so to get to your questions

is gay "okay"?

you put it in quotation marks
so I'm not sure exactly what you're implying

I don't think that people are born gay
I think it's something that happens later on

for example,
kids aren't even aware of their gender identity until they're 2 or 3 years old

how can they already know what gender they're attracted to if they don't even know what their own gender is?

you get what I mean?

another thing to note is that there are instances where one identical twin is gay and one is straight even though both are pretty much the same genetically

another story is about a girl's aunt
her aunt is a lesbian
but she wasn't always
she became lesbian after her father raped her
it made her scared of men in general
so she only felt comfortable sexually with females

so those are some of the reasons why I don't think people are born gay

on terms of it being natural:
I'm not saying pedophilia, incest, bestiality, homosexuality are same thing

but many people in any of those 4 categories don't wish to feel that way

they don't want to be sexually attracted to children
they don't want to be sexually attracted to their siblings/parents
they don't want to be sexually attracted to animals
they don't want to be sexually attracted to the same ****

so how do I feel?

I feel bad for them
that they feel things and deal with things that many of us don't

here comes my conservative view:
I don't think gay marriage should be legal

I also don't think alcohol should be legal

now that I think about it
I didn't share my conservative views a couple of times because I was afraid some people wouldn't like me
I wasn't thinking about being disliked at those moments
I didn't even realize I was thinking like this until today

but I know it's important to share your views and beliefs
so that's what I did today

and it feels really good to do it
and let it out

Instead of spending our time trying to escape the horrible reality of the real world, we should try to make the world a better place to live in, amirite?

And give peace a chance.

Sunglasses aren't meant to hide your eyes.
