What was the best job offer you've had and accepted?

When ESPN was just getting started, they had their trucks built in California. They hired me to drive them first to Delaware to register them, then to Connecticut to deliver them. After I delivered the 3rd truck, they offered men a job as their number one driver. I laughed, and told them no one would be interested in watching college sports on TV. Boy, was I ever wrong on that one (confused)

Thanks for taking some time out to post your comment - nice of you to give your input ;)

Nothing is worse than when somebody copies your answers on the test and then get a better grade than you, amirite?

Maybe it's not the WORST. . . but it's pretty bad. The guy that sits next to me copied my answers (I think) but I still got a better grade by 2 points

That may be true for most others but I was never one to let comparisons like that rule my mood.

The theft of my answers would be on that person, not me, but if he was caught doing it, it might make me happy which would then rule my mood in a good way :)

My first job after the Army was at a gas pump - yee hah. The training the service gave me led to nothing much in civilian jobs.

Twenty-two months will go fast. Any exotic plans after that?

Its perfect when your listening to the radio but is **** sucks when a rap song comes on to ruin it! amirite?

I'm not at all a fan of Rap; it's boring, repetitive, usually disgustingly vulgar, often disrespectful, often racist, nothing I can relate with.

John, thanks for helping me with this post, I appreciate it and all the others you've taken part in.

I have a vague memory of you mentioning something similar on another post that came close to this issue. I remember you liking what you worked at with that as well. :)

Best wishes with the rest of your weekend.

Do you ever feel something weird, when you come upon something, that you feel, that is not meant to be there? That there's something missing or lacking of?

I vaguely remember a sensation similar to what you've described, but that's all I can give you.

Inappropriate Business ? *** Two prostitutes were riding around town with a sign on top of their car that said: "TWO PROSTITUTES - $50.00." A policeman stopped them and told them they'd either have to remove the sign or go to jail. Just then, another car passed with a sign saying, "JESUS SAVES." One of the girls asked the cop, "Why don't you stop them?" "Well, that's a little different," the cop smiled. "Their sign pertains to religion." The two ladies frowned as they took their sign down and drove off. The following day the cop noticed the same two ladies driving around with a large sign on their car again. This time the sign read: "TWO ANGELS SEEKING PETER - $50.00." *** Link: http://jokes4all.net/car-jokes?p=24

I hear that automatic/assault weapons are made to do one thing. To kill lots of people. So why do police need assault weapons? To protect and serve? Disarm the police, and I will disarm. Not really, but you get the point.

Again: cops are people - some who will do their job as the general public expects, and other officers who will handle things in the wrong way; you should never lump them all together, just as you shouldn't with the population.

As far as the weaponry, I'm all for the police having the advantage because many times they're up against people who would quickly use an advantage in very savage ways first and every chance they had.

Firearms are stolen, bought, and found - you know that :) - and if not a firearm then it'd be something else. Anger goes where anger wants and the method won't really matter.
