Perhaps time to bring back the Haiku Game? Three lines. Doesn't have to rhyme. First line 5 syllables. Second line 7 syllables. Third line 5 syllables again. Only rule is that you must use the most recent writers last line as your first. It goes from there. I'll start and see who wants to play. :)

And celebrations
Firecrackers bursting in air
Honoring the brave

Post the most over-the-top, weepy love song ever.

I sometimes have a good memory...altho sometimes I am also groping...

I didn't remember the name...I don't think I ever knew who sang/wrote it.

Thanks again.

I've heard that before. I'm the tail end of my parents' 23 years of kids so being the eternal baby of the family was no fun either :(

That's very romantic...but is it weepy? I guess almost any song could be weepy.

Aw...that's it!! My older sisters used to sing it and I'm surprised it stayed...of course the "lyrics" are fairly easy to guess...

Thank you. :)

You have a remarkable memory.

I googled "last date - wilson" and, thankfully the wilson part got me the song. It was Last Kiss by J. Frank Wilson.

This is where Ser steps in to help post the songs... Either that song which was part of the movie GHOST...or an old song called "Love Hurts..."

Here is another song...but I don't know what it's called...but it is a weeper...

We were out on a date in my Daddy's car
We haven't driven very far
There on the road straight ahead
A car was stalled; the engine was dead
I couldn't stop so I swerved to the right
Never forgot that sound that night
Grinding tires...the break of Glass

Oh where oh where is my baby?

Do you remember this song? I'm deleting this comment since it's kinda hokey.

**The best singer in the world is probably an unknown.**

No...was he the mentor? Sometimes a good singer has a good teacher...whom they attribute a lot to...making it sound like the teacher is as good...even better maybe...then they are themselves.

The Ritz Brothers were contemporary with the Marx Brothers... but the Ritz boys are mostly all but forgotten. Harry Ritz had a cameo in Mel's "Silent Movie".

Basically, CANADA is the best of Great Britain and the U.S. with just enough of the bad to keep us interesting.

Well, I will say this much. I've visited several times and loved the place. I'll certainly give you the "interesting" vote plus my friendship and respect. (l)

Have you ever had a crush in someone's voice?

I'm curious to see what the movie is about. But I almost certainly won't be able to recognize the voice, because I've actually never watched cartoons in English. :P (Most cartoons I've watched were from the US, but they were all dubbed in my country)

Oh.. good point. Well I'll tell you then. John Garfield beats up an ex-cop/private detective in this late 1940s movie for trying to extort money from he and his girlfriend. The heavy-set actor playing the extortionist went on a decade and a half later to voice the Fred Flintstone cartoon character :).

Actually, I think he did... He wasn't wrong either. Tucker sings the praises of reason he doesn't practice it, I think that's what irks me about him more than anything else. And you can see that in the clip above.
