I use to watch stock prices every other day many years ago. A friend of mine was a stock broker and I invested quite a bit with him when the IT market was booming. I don't anymore.
I pay attention a few times a week, Stocks have a habit of going down in late Sept or early October, so I have moved quite a bit from one account to a money market fund. Once the market does its annual correction, I will move it back.
I keep an eye on the stock market because of retirement.
Very rarely but I do check it out about once a month.
Ever since my dad (R.I.P. 2008) refused to sell his stocks, when they were at their highest value ever - and eventually dropped to half of the top value - I haven't paid that much attention to the stock market. People have the tendency to be stubborn about their "precious", it's like a badly written copy of a Tolkien novel in real life.
We used to do it years ago ... now stocks are VERY hard to find.
I say we bring them back.
Nothing better to teach these whippersnappers some lessons.
