Let's see how we can misinterpret this.
Swipe to go to another post.
Not having someone else to cook for and with. I don't mind the prep or cleanup. I fill the waiting by doing the cleanup and other chores as I go, so that's usually not an issue.
Yep. Nothing like the look on a significant other's face when they love what you make for them. I also clean up as I go along, dishes, wipe up, and such.
yes cooking and eating with a buddy is always better.
Same here....eh even when I'm home alone preparing lunch for myself I can not sit down to eat my lunch UNTIL the ingredients I used to make my lunch are put away, as well as the utensils(even if it was just a butter knife) are washed and put away lol!! :)
There is nothing about cooking I dislike...then everything goes in the dishwasher...
I'm glad you cook, JD...Most people these days don't seem to know how to cook.
I love it, it's great to change flavors with different spices and herbs....cook a gammon joint in cherry coke and it's awesome...
I'll give that a try. Thanks.
JD, I also love changing things up in a recipe....my daughter came home from a sleepover this past weekend and told me about her friend's mom using crushed up Flaming Hot Cheetos as the breading for her chicken nuggets recipe, that all their friends loved, and wants me to make it the same way the next time we're having chicken for dinner.
Including your fingers?
When I chop veggies, everything flies everywhere, and putting the stirring spoon down....SPLAT!! But I'm quick to clean up.
I've just cooked too many meals in my life....just tired of it.
Don't get me wrong, I still cook most every evening, and also fix lunch. I don't do breakfast, though. lol
I love to cook, just not for myself.
That's great. I understand, I would rather cook for guests than just the two of us.
Just drill the damn chops, man...
Ha!...Maybe Ozzy can come cut onions for me.
I guess he could, after all, he is Iron man.
Put onions in the freezer for a minute before you cut them.
Thanks...I'll try that next time.
Let a fox eat the onions first, then cut the fox. Easy. Silly.
I forgot about the ONIONS!!! I love cooking, but cutting certain type of onions that hurt your eyes IS the worst part of cooking that calls for those type of onions in that recipe.
Well... Getting rid of the eyes usually does the trick. Or using a fox, as shown above.
Yea I use yellow onions a lot.
They'll make the eyes water good..
When other People cook in my Kitchen and cause absolute Chaos (like My Daughter) who is a Superb Cook.
I tidy up as I go along because I can't stand disorganization
everything has it's place so we can find what we need when we need it and by the time the meal/cake etc is in the Oven you wouldn't even know I'd been cooking.
but not when others cook , my Kitchen looks like a flipping Coke factory
when C cooks but it is nice to see her enjoy cooking so much.
I stay out of the Kitchen when others cook or I tidy up and that annoys them
not surprised when I'm putting ingredients away they are yet to use or washing spoons or sweeping flour up off the floor. lolz
Note to self, NEVER EVER, even think of cooking in Ser's kitchen, we'd drive each other absolutely NUTS!
Washing the pots and pans afterwards, especially if I've used the deep cast iron skillet. I don't mind it very much, but it is my least favorite part. As mentioned, it's worth it in the end...especially when a loved one enjoys what I've prepared, too.
"cast iron skillet"...Yes, old is gold.
The one I use most often, is probably almost as old as I am. Some stuff just tastes better when cooked in a cast iron skillet, seems to me.
I have a cast iron skillet and a Magnalite skillet.
When the food is out of them, I put a little water in it and heat it up, easy clean up.
I've not had to use that method with the cast iron skillet, but it works pretty well with the stainless steel cookware. Thanks DD.. :)
You use them on food? Are you crazy, dude? Use them on cocaine, like every normal person on this planet.
I thought they used a peanut butter jar for that..
Jars? I'm not that familiar with containers, but... Really... Why, exactly?
Well...since I've never used cocaine, I figured it would be something most people would have and something cheap..
Damnit...I should've said a spam can.
I made a peach frangipane today. The only part I didn't like was when it was gone .
Make another one.
Is it me?
mess dishes time. I often end up eating just a few crackers and a bite of cheese.
Definitely the cleanup!
Yeah, it's the same with a murder.
Yes, that's definitely why I've squelched that impulse ... way too much trouble!
The entire thing. This is why God invented money and delivery service
I actually like cleaning up, I just don’t enjoy the preparing or cooking part. My wife and I were a great team like this, she would do the cooking and I’d clean up.
I have baked a surprise for your upcoming... Wait, what was it? (inaudible) ... Yeah, your wife says it's something... That is... Coming up or going or... What?
It's the washing up!
The cleaning up afterwards
Also the critics... people try their best. Though sometimes that's my fault because I do like to experiment with foods at times. Sometimes it has worked out amazing well.... other times... not so much.
I agree with what Bozette said
That will be my first line of defense, after they catch me with my rifle.
I dislike sautéing because I hate getting splattered with hot oil. I hate chopping, especially onions, for obvious reasons.
I actually enjoy listening to a good podcast while cooking something delicious (this week I'm making sopa de albóndigas), but there are parts of it that are tedious.
Figuring out what the hell to cook!
Use sausages. Nothing can ever go wrong with them. I tried making pancakes today and it was a freakin' disaster. SAUSAGES!!!
Forgetting ingredients. Cocoa tastes odd if you forget the vanilla. Pumpkin pie is hard to take when you forget the sugar. When the memory goes, forget it!
I thought Pumpkin pie would be harder, if you didn't have the pumpkin to start with...
What's hard is bread. I have never figured out why I can't make good bread twice in a row.
The worst thing is not having an appetite.
I will make you so hor... hungry, that you will be begging for my weirdly shaped sausage surprise.
I LOVE to cook.....I clean up the mess on the counters and hand wash all the pots/pans/utensils I had used while I'm waiting for something on the stove or in the oven to finish cooking for the next step in my recipe. So there's really never that much of a clean up by the time everything is done, except for the dishes, forks and knives that were used to eat my AWESOME meal, that I have my kids put in the dishwasher after we're all done eating :)
I don't like peeling the little **, but more than that, I don't like to peel the huge, giant ** like the potatoes I have in my fridge at the moment. The size of my fist and although my hands are small, still...
