1. President Obama
2. No current holiday, just make a new one....say May 1 and call it Obama Day.
That is the greatest idea yet. I hope everyone agrees. Do you think so?
lol I'm sure every member on here will agree to that. lol
I'm gonna go & hide somewhere...
Traitor...lol You're gonna leave me out here to fight off my haters... some friend you turned out to be. lol
Haters? The PC term is "those who disagree"...
Well, maybe I'll stick around.
Well I'm not PC, and proud of it. lol
You better stick around or I'll hunt you down and get out the whips.
Nice try. I used to like being whipped - as you know - but I've grown tired of that kind of foreplay.
Yeah right. lol
Bold of you
1. President Trump
2. No current holiday, just wait until the new one for President Obama is implemented, and then change it.
Or...take the same day - 1/2 for Obama and 1/2 for Trump.
Maybe even alternate each minute of that day back & forth..lol
I like your "Or" option best. Obama would represent the working hours when stuff gets done. The 12 hr night shift can be the Trump half... time for tweeting, watching Hannity, binge eating cheeseburgers...
Hey..it would be a holiday.
Obama would be at Martha's Vineyard with the media celebrating his golf game.
Trump would be at Mara Lago with the media vilifying his golf game.
... the truth IS funny, eh?
So THAT's why Obama and Trump get laughed at by one of the two 1/2's of the country at any given time.
Thank God for laughter. What if we were "living" in Putin's Russia?
Or Kim's North Korea, officially known as "Democratic People's Republic of Korea"?
It's anything but what the official name touts.
The Democrat People's Republic of Korea... makes no sense, eh?
(Did you leave out the "ic" on Democratic intentionally?)
The official name makes no sense IMO -
It's not "Democratic"
It's not the "People's"
It's not a "Republic"
Or, is it?
About the missing "ic" - good guess
NK can call itself anything it wants. It doesn't necessarily make it so. Any nation can for that matter.
Sure a nation can.
No reason for NK to officially name itself the "Totalitarian Inhumane Dictatorship of Korea".
The official name as it is sounds much more appealing.
Uh huh. What if some in your great nation get their way and Texas and/or California secede? Will it still be the United States of America?
Just because no states have yet seceded doesn't mean they are "united"...except for those emotional "kumbaya" moments, (and then nobody means it any longer after the emotion wears off).
And the fact that the U.S. legislative body which makes up representatives from each state still take their scheduled vacations together after a few months in DC of posing as representatives of those "united" states.
Now that there is funny..
I don't care who you are..
Add Louisa May Alcott Day and get rid of Sweetest Day (people get enough mush from Valentine's Day.)
for LMA Day and DOUBLE for axing Sweetest Day - -
Benjamin Franklin. His accomplishments speak for themselves. Since Columbus didn't discover America, we'll eliminate Columbus Day.
Yes... I agree 100%
Axe Columbus Day, honestly most things would be a better replacement
Underground Railroad Day... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Underground_Railroad
Sounds good to me
Me too :)
I don't give a rats ****, who.
Just hurry up and make it for this Friday, so I can have off..
Pretty tough call, since even Jesus himself doesn't have his own holiday anymore. But MLK Jr. DOES!!
Christmas? Easter? Jesus has 2 entire holiday SEASONS. MLK was a pretty good dude.
Christmas is now "The Holidays"...and Easter (Easter eggs are now called "spring spheres") doesn't contain Christ's name. Yeah, MLK was OK, for a riot agitator.
Christmas is still Christmas, no matter what the PC douchebags try to tell you. Easter doesn't need his name; it's all about his sacrifice. MLK preached peace; his followers were really bad listeners.
Ummm...christmas hasnt gone anywhere.
Christmas has come back. You remember , for the past 5 or 10 years, it was "the Holidays" on TV and the media.
See below...not typing it again....
Got it. Yeah, I was referring more to the national chain department store and Mall mindset and their TV commercials. For 10 years, you couldn't see "Merry Christmas" anywhere in any national department store. Glad the public rebelled.
It will always be Merry Christmas out of my mouth too.
I agree with dwf.
Merry christmas has always been in the mouths of people here. It never went anywhere. Happy holidays has also always been a vocal greeting or parting words.
Hanukkah, christmas, new years. Holidays.....
