I can't really agree with that sentiment. Although our future is surely in question from moment to moment, living like we won't have one isn't such a great idea. Neither is that last part, many times.
The uncertainty of the future, and the whim of fate is what allows us the freedom to exist in the moment. Too many try to steer a course and thus fail to trust the winds to find their true destiny.
I have no trouble grasping, or experiencing, the concept of appreciating and being aware of, living in every moment.
Trusting the "winds" or whim of fate to find one's true destiny, not so much.

You do not hunt in a mirror, and you do not skin a rabbit that is not in your hand.
Of course you hunt in a mirror, Erasmus.
Who is more likely to catch the rabbit, the experienced hunter who has learned the habits of rabbits, or a rank novice?
So if I have a hangover I should look the part?
I am sad to inform you, you already do.
I disagree. If people acted on what they are really feeling, people would be fighting one another all the time.
Such a jaundiced view of humanity.
No, I just face the facts.

Sounds like a recipe for chaos :(
The chaos of the garden. Is order so precious that we cannot see the glory of tumult?
Seeing as you put it that way I suppose a philosopher/poet can see beauty in anything... even genocide?
Genocide can be very orderly. I suspect it is harder to achieve randomly.
The past is what made us today.
Indeed, and so it is part of who we are today. Dwelling there serves no purpose.
We can't go back to the past, we can't go into the future. We can only be in the present moment.
