Yep, just too bad there was so many years he had to try and do it with a mediocre defense..

He would have about 3 Superbowl wins right now, instead of one..

I think our defense is a bit better this year and we have a punishing running tandem, where Drew Brees doesn't have to try and do everything on his own..

We have some good players out with injuries but then I guess just about every team does..

Even though I'm a Pat's fan who was DEVASTATED both times when we lost to the Giants in those 2 great Superbowls...I've always liked Eli Manning as the Giants QB because of his talent and him being an overall positive team player/good guy.
I do consider Eli Manning to be one of the best QB's in the league which is why I've always rooted for the Giants to win a game when I see the ticker of scores on the bottom of my TV screen while watching the Pats. I actually felt bad hearing that he had been benched because of their TEAM being so awful this year, which kinda sent a message to the public that Manning was to blame for the Giants being so awful this year... eh but the Giants still lost today with Geno Smith as their QB.

The Pat's didn't have Gronk last year due to his injury and they STILL won the Superbowl without Gronk in that ONCE IN A LIFETIME Superbowl late in the game comeback.
I love Gronk(hello my user name lol)....eh but according to my liberal state's sports and news media(talking heads) I'm supposedly in the minority of thinking as you do..........because
ACCORDING to my state's pansy liberal SWJ media reporters, supposedly WE ALL in New England think Gronk should have been given an EVEN harsher penalty because of his "mean spirited, uncalled for late hit in that game"....whereas in REALITY the REAL Pat's fan were thinking WHO THE HELL are these reporters talking to, because we as Pat's fans who actually watch their games don't feel that way!!!

That late "hit" was not even a HIT, it was just a rightfully so pissed off/frustrated Gronk after the whistle was blown sliding over/on top of that guy on the ground because ONCE AGAIN during that game another Bill covering him was not called for a blatant pass interference.

Eh my country is so PC now, where even a football player has to publically APOLOGIZE for being too rough WHILE PLAYING FOOTBALL....yet all those ingrate millionaire football players who kneel during my country's National Anthem are PRAISED by my country's msm liberal media, smh.

Hockey will be the next sport that the SJW's RUIN because of these nuts finding it "offensive" that hockey players fight each other during their games, claiming that hockey players fighting during a game sends a bad message to our youth blah, blah, blah....eh but these nuts on the far left not getting the irony that THEY as supposed liberal "peaceful" SJW's come prepared with bats etc. to their own rallies to VIOLENTLY attack anyone who dares to challenge/disagree with their message of "Love Trumps Hate" while spewing their Socialism/Communism message to their politically ignorant followers.

Jerry, Gronk did not SMASH a "defenseless man's HEAD INTO the dirt"....Gronk being a passionate player while playing the GAME of FOOTBALL and being a physically big guy... did a controlled (WWE) late hit body slam on that Bills player out of his frustration because ONCE again a Bills player during that game got away with blatant pass interference of him catching Tom Brady's pass to him.

In response to “The only time I have a problem with the Pats...

I really like the Manning brothers, so when the Pat's lost to their teams... the pain wasn't so bad for me :)

The Pat's and Tom Brady are still hated so much by so many people because of typical game enders like this one with Brady being a newbie QB back then with the Pat's WINNING that game...and then him last year pushing 40 as QB orchestrating the biggest comeback in SB history.

Tom Brady now being 40, super wealthy, having 5 rings for winning 5 Super Bowls, being married to a "super model" and having 3 young kids....he at 40 years old could have easily retired from playing football being on the TOP as the GOAT, but instead he chose to continue to play BECAUSE he as a great athlete has the same drive and passion to play and be a WINNER even though he's already won so many times ...people having the same mindset of Tom Brady is what made America GREAT :)

NFL? Superbowl?
Isn't that a political activist group? I'm not into that.
I did hear that the Cleveland Browns that haven't won a game in two years now COULD actually make the playoffs! Granted, a lot of highly unlikely things would have to happen first - but, allegedly, it's a possibility. Any out fit that COULD have the Browns as their champion is not worthy of my attention.

I was referencing an article written in November that discussed all the unlikely things that would have to happen. It's just as much a joke here in Cleveland as anywhere else. Browns suck and we know it.

Anyone but the Pats.

Did you see Gronkowski's cheap shot? The ref missed a pass interference call so after the play, as the opposing player lay on his stomach defenseless, Gronk takes a running start and cold **** the guy on the back of the head with his carbon fiber arm brace. The dude is now in concussion protocol. Despicable.

That's the first time Gronk has ever did anything in that capacity. He's been the poster boy since day one. Smith was holding Gronk all game, the ref missed those or didn't want to call them. It was a cheap shot, but then again almost ever game I see cheap shots.

Do actually think that that was any worse than AJ Green (one of my favs) throwing a punch to the head of his opponent. Green was ejected with no fine. (Again green is one of my fav)

Gronk should've got ejected and a fine ... not a one game suspension.

The NFL can't get their shit together.

As a Bills fan I thought it was an outrage, but you're right. Gronk is no Ndamukong Suh. Still though, he gave Tre'Davious White a concussion (read: traumatic brain injury). I think his suspension should be one more game longer than Tre'Davious White has to sit out with the injury. Seems fair, no?

Imagine if J.J.Watt threw all his weight onto the back of Tom Brady's head as he lie on the ground, all because he was frustrated about some non-calls. Gronk was held and shoved - definitely pass interference - but it doesn't mitigate his actions.

I agree it was worse than the AJ Green thing. In that case at least the other player knew he was in a fight.

Actually, I don't see a suspension there. Football is violent; the whistle hadn't been blown and it was a head on collision. Football needs to stay violent but you don't slam a guy in the back of the head when the play is over as an afterthought because you're pissed.

0

JerryHendrickson 4 days ago

In response to “Actually, I don't see a suspension there...

I don't disagree with what you said. But keep in mind, that cheap hits have become quite common lately. Don't punish one guy (Gronk) for something many other players have done.

Look at Juju Smith-Schuster's hit (above). It was intentional and he blind sided the player, then he looked at him like he deserved it. That's malicious.

Both Gronk and Juju are in the wrong, one is as bad as the other.

I played semi pro and I know what it's like to take cheap shots at players. I was guilty on several occasions.
