My computers back-up automatically.
Thank you for joining. :)
I have no idea how to back up anything.
Thank you for joining. :) According to my own post, I'm a terrible friend if I don't tell how to backup. :P lol. -- Then, of course, I was just kidding - I don't think that makes one a bad friend. :P
hahaha no, it would take more than that for me to lose you as a dear friend.
I'm living in a cloud of my own and I know, what you did last summer.
You know? Damn it, I need to hide my cloud better.
Well, stop smoking crack cocaine, then. That helps.
I'm smoking clouds. It tastes like chicken.
I'm merely clouds. I'm not a real being, you just smoke too much crack cocaine, mate.
Well, that's a revelation, matey.
Maybe that's even true of existence as a whole.
They say, that computing and data are in the cloud servers.
I can serve you infinite wisdom from my own cloud: 1+1=42.
Cool, I'd really like to integrate your cloud to mine. That way I could replace the fortune teller that I'm currently using to predict the future.
She is a good person, but a bit scary.
I can see her Facebook account. It's filled with cat litter and weird crystals.
Yep. I mean, who does that? Creepy.
Back up, ha!
Ive nothing to back up.
That's a good solution to the problem - the problem simply doesn't exist. :)
My friends don't even know I have any important data. In fact, I never know anything is important until I lose it. :)
Haha. :) Thank you for joining.
My stuff isn't important enough to back up. lol
I spent a week backing up all my data, videos, audios, and images...then my back ups burned in a fire. I then backed up one laptop on another...they're both down now. I used to keep contacts and some files in my email...then Google, Yahoo, and Live all reset my email accounts and all was lost. So next I stored them in my SH account...then they locked us out without notice. After losing my contacts in 3 different phones (2 burned, 1 bricked), I backed them up in the cloud, when the next phone bricked, I had my contacts (yay!) and downloaded them from the cloud to my new phone...the next day they mysteriously disappeared from both my phone and the cloud.
That's my personal preference, though it doesn't work for audio/video and, um...it burns, too.
My photos are all printed, i like to hold them. No audio or video. All my important papers i keep in a firebox.
I am really a dinosaur.
I prefer hardcopy everything. I had even burned DVDs and CDs of all my videos and music just before that last fire. Plastics and electronics make for the worst fires...
The *last* fire?
Im so sorry.
A house fire is one of the few things that scare me.
Yes, I have a history with fires. And trees falling on the house, too. :(
This last one scared me, I was alone, have no idea how it started, have no idea how it stopped, and have no idea how I survived it.
Im glad you did.
Thank you, Carla. :)
Again, sorry to hear that you had to go through that. :(
Sorry to hear that you've experienced such a trouble.
Yahoo used to reset your e-mail data if your (free) account was unused for 6 months. Not sure if they do that anymore. I haven't had experience with Live.
I've never seen Google do that, though. Did you lose all your data even though you could still log in to your account?
What I've seen happening with Google is that sometimes you can lose access to your account even if you remember the password. In some cases you get asked to use an account recovery option (recovery e-mail, SMS, secret question, etc., depending on what you've set up) and are locked out of your account if you can't use any of the options (if I'm not mistaken, this can happen if you log in from a new device after not using the account for a long time).
For my contacts I usually keep them all in Google Contacts. Android phones usually let you access all the Google contacts (and store contacts in your Google account) if you set up your Google account in the phone.
For file backup I like to use Google Drive (it offers up to 15 GB for free).
I hadn't used the emails in a while and was using a new phone to sign in (fire...), so I had to jump through the hoops to prove it was me. That's when all three accounts were wiped.
I've got way more than 15G. I recently tried another one with more storage, but it isn't working quite right.
Sorry to hear that. :( It's pretty annoying when it happens. I always set up recovery e-mail account and phone number for all my accounts -- that usually does the trick, but it has to be kept updated otherwise you'd end up locked out again.
If you have much more than 15GB then all the free ones seem to be a bit limited in terms of space offered, but they usually have a paid plan (I've just checked and apparently Google Drive offers 100GB for $1.99 per month). Which one are you trying?
Cannot recall the name off the top of my head, but I supposedly have 100G free with it.
