People should boycott reality tv...
But if there were one for writers, then I would watch it. Because I'm biased like that
:)......i would much rather watch people writing than mugging for the camera or whatever they do.
Nothing for me to boycott - I don't watch any reality shows anyway.
Neither do I
A good reason to join the boycott!
Reality tv was created because of the Hollywood writer's strike. the thery being that if they had a "reality" show, then there would be no need for a script, or a writer.
Well, in case they haven't heard, the Hollywood writer's strike is over. So what's their excuse for a)still having "reality shows" and b) not having better writers for movies and tv? Think about it, every movie out now is a remake of another movie, or a ripoff of a comic book.
How can any writer worth their salt even call themselves a writer when they push this crap?
I still want a reality show for writers. Then, I get on it, win, instant success.
And then shoutout all my Amirite people for helping to bring it into fruition.
I understand. Everyone wants programming that they can relate to and find interesting.
Exactly. Everybody can't be a MasterChef or a Real (but probably fake?) Housewife.
I'm sure the Big Bang Theory originally had these nearly 30 year old guys hanging out in one of the mom's basement, but they decided to claim they were really smart and give them jobs (while they still spend all their money on takeout food and comic book paraphernalia).
I think a old sitcom came close...it was called NewsRadio....
It was more about media but a reality show about just writers? C'mon.
Then there was another old show WKRP in Cincinnati...
Take the above show for example...you need more elements than just writing, altho writing is a big part.
Most of them yes, but sometimes I like to watch someone's drama, like Big Brother. I love to watch that train crash.
A reality show for writers? Why not just sit in a starbucks and watch them there? I can't imagine that show being entertaining whatsoever.
I don't know, might be interesting. Apparently this guy has thought a lot about it: http://ew.com/article/2012/05/0...-reality-show/
To be honest, I think if there were such a show, it would have more of a cult following and probably wouldn't attract a large number of viewers.
yeah definitely a cult following show. I imagine there's a market for it, I just think it might be other writers.
ooooh definitely, or at the very least readers of the writers featured in the show.
