I have visited some scary places but none as scary as that.
I used to talk to a guy online that lived there and the way he described it sounded very bleak.
We arrived in Detroit at 2am and didn't have any idea we were in the rough part of town. We paid for a hotel room and went to bed. When we woke up and looked outside the surrounding area looked like a war-zone.
That's what he said. I just had a look around there on google maps street view and there seems to be a lot of areas that seem deserted?
Any big city can be very bad if you don't know where you are going.
Blackpool, what in shithole. 乂^◡^乂
Yes-but nice trams..
HA! Yes admittedly the trams look rather nice.
Not a place, but I never again wish to be in the position I found myself in 2009.
Watts, South Los Angeles.
Detroit, escaped getting mugged there one time.
Same here. I have stayed in some of the most violent, crime-ridden areas in the USA but Detroit was the worse. I felt safer in NYC.
We were coming out of a museum, and noticed a black guy walking really close behind us. And then all of a sudden a cop had tackled him to the ground. He was getting ready to rob us or something, but the cop was watching him....thank God. We've never went back. lol
Big cities arent my favorite, but detroit is trying.....
Yes it is.
Tunisia North Africa, what a dump..
The west coast. Once was enough, beautiful but run by a bunch of nuts.
Too many tourists.
Oh, and pontiac, mi.
When i was young, it was a rough place to go. Havent been in 40 years or so. Dont miss it.
Any Middle East country. These days, that includes certain parts of the US.
Work...but they keep paying me to show up so I guess I have to go
I flew over Iraq when the oil wells were burning and day turned to night. Looking out the window everything was black but you could see all the little fires on the ground. It was like being in an apocalypse movie.
Archer City Texas, worst city in america
Dallas. Sorry, Dallas.
Texas in general. I'm glad my brother isn't at Fort Hood anymore.
whats wrong with texas?
Where would you like me to start? : )
With the lane reason why you don't like Texas.
Well.... they stole that land from Mexico for starters. Then they gave part of their land to Oklahoma in order to become a slave state. Then there was that terrible TV show, Dallas, which started the whole "it was all just a dream" ****.
But mostly because it's too hot, too humid, their roads are terrible, their day and night speed limits are ambiguous at best (when am I speeding?!?!), the people are jerks, and it's waaaaay to big.
You should be able to drive across a state that isn't Alaska in half a day. At most.
So.... You were a Dynasty fan??? 乂^◡^乂
Not by choice... : /
Dynasty was more of my Aunt's type of show.
oh so your one of those "i'm white i should feel guilty for what white people did long before i was even born" type liberals, get over it. also about the slavery, YOU, I or anyone born in texas is NOT responsible, so stop, JUST STOP already!
there, the first valid argument you have made so far, hot and humid is miserable.
yeah come to canada roads are terrible anywhere you go,
I worked with people who lived in texas, they where not jerks at all. rather nice people.
Have you actually been to Texas, though?
(I've chosen to ignore your whole "white guilt" rant because that's not what I was saying)
yes it is, "Then they gave part of their land to Oklahoma in order to become a slave state" (semple).
that is white guilt tripping pure and simple, your attacking texas today for what people who aren;t even alive anymore did. and when did texas steal any land from mexico? before anyone in texas today was born that is sure as hell. so how can you say your not doing the whole white guilt thing when it is 100% obvious you did do exactly that.
i would sooner visit Texas over liberal hell holes like California
To each their own then. Visit where you like. : )
Also, you should look more deeply into the history of our country, starting with doing a search for "Manifest Destiny" and then move on to our war with Mexico.
We literally stole half of their country (most of the Southwest US of A used to be Mexico, from TX to CA) and almost invaded all of it. It was our first war on foreign soil... unless you take into account what we did to Native Americans....
That's not white guilt but a warning. That's history we should all know.... because history has a way of repeating itself.
Yeah, semple....you are talking to air.
People choose to dismiss the fact that europeans, then americans were committing genocide, on this continent, not too many years before germany was practicing it.
Ignorance equals plausible deniability....
But I'm gonna keep trying : )
You are a persistant and peaceful person:).
I admire that....
Which is why I'd like to reiterate all the other reasons why Texas sucks. : )
Get back here, S
Considering that England, France and Spain were all trying to gobble up as much land as possible in both North and South America, the native Americans didn't have a chance of maintaining control of their lands. It ended up going to a mix of European misfits, but it would have happened anyway. It's sad but that has been the way of the world for thousands of years and it is continuing today. Nothing to be proud of but not everything in native American history was a wonderful rose garden either. JMHO.

My mom's lady bits
((((((PooF)))))) Your wish has been granted.
Ya know, i have been to most of the places mentioned so far and I agree there are some bad areas in all of them but there are also some really good places in all of them. Maybe not Wonderscore's mom's lady bits, but most of the others. 😄😄😄
Lol... may none of us have to see that happen - ever ;)
I've been through it a couple times, to and from "the falls" - I'd add that to my list, as well ;)
It may be different now but some areas looked like war zones (20 or so years ago)
